Do NOT ever under-estimate the task at hand when it comes to moving people to buy. It takes extreme, extraordinary measures to compel people to act!
Step 1: Try to fill the B.M.I.P. Template as much as possible
1- The product and editor is
___________________________________________________
(Also note if this is front-end or back end offer….)
2- What are the best qualities of this editor?
____________________________________________________
(What makes him/her an AUTHORITY figure? Social proof? Rags-to riches/transformation story, etc.? Past predictions?)
3- The actual moneymaking opportunity is?
____________________________________________________
(List actual recommendation/s …specific stock(s), trend, investment, strategy, market, etc. BE AS SPECIFIC AS POSSIBLE)
4- What is your most powerful proof this opportunity is real?
____________________________________________________
(Can you demonstrate it with real examples? Historical/back-tested results? Testimonials? Tell a true transformation story of someone finding/using this mechanism/opportunity to achieve wealth/success/health?)
5- This opportunity satisfies the primal desire of this market to?
____________________________________________________
(what is your PRIMARY PROMISE to solve an urgent PROBLEM… be ultras-specific… make a promise with BALLS)
6- The “Proprietary Solution(s)” that lets readers achieve this desire is?
____________________________________________________
(what is the new THING that lets the reader get the desired outcome? Transubstantiation/naming/system?)
7- This is unique because?
____________________________________________________
(how will you position this THING to avoid Categorical Imperative/opt-out? What is it not? Why better?)
8- Readers need to get in right now because?
____________________________________________________
(be ultras-specific, including actual dates if possible… can you name or frame the investment catalyst?)
9- This is the biggest, most important thing in all of history / our lifetimes because?
____________________________________________________
10- How does the solution make this “done for you” without having to?
____________________________________________________
11- What kind of lead are you thinking of using?
____________________________________________________
(Predictions, systems package, hot stock alert, story, invitation, secret, etc.?)
12- If there is a villain in the promotion, who is he/she?
____________________________________________________
13- What are the intangible or material benefits from use of Magic Mechanism?
____________________________________________________
(mental pictures – boats, cars, real estate, etc. Or sleeping better at night, etc.)
14- This opportunity is like?
____________________________________________________
(list as many powerful, visual metaphors and analogies as you can think of….)
15- Can you brainstorm a “hook” for your lead?
____________________________________________________
(An apparent incongruence or dramatic irony… something outrageous that should not exist… or a pattern Interrupt?)
16- What is your superior, irresistible offer?
____________________________________________________
(Rough ideas for funnel/upsells/bonuses, etc.? Scarcity? Guarantee/no refunds? Reason why for offer?)
17- Can you add a “twist” or “wow” moment later in the package?
____________________________________________________
(Something you can hold back from the lead, e.g. a deeper benefit, a reveal, or a goodie/extra, etc.)
None of these ideas I actually developed on my own.
I took these all from more brilliant copywriters than I ever will be. You can definitely take this template and make your own version of it just by putting in the pieces and parts that you think make sense.
Create your own tools like these, ultimately. It helps to start with something.
STEP 2: Sharpen Your “Big Idea” Razor Sharp
Write down a 250-word “proof of concept” to summarize your Big Idea….
Go verbally pitch this concept to at least 5 people, note their feedback….
Run your idea through the filters/checklists below:
E.C. (P.P. + P.S.) + I.I. = B.M.I.
E.C. = Emotionally Compelling?
P.P. = Primary Promise …. what is the outcome and transformation from the product?
P.S. = Proprietary Solution… provides the hope they will get this transformation from product?
I.I. = Intellectually Interesting… feeling of discovery… “Ah-Ha!” moment… newsworthy, something they’ll share with other people?
